Introduction to Ada 83 Programming

ADA Training Overview

This course is the first in a two-part series in which the student will learn how to effectively implement a software design using the Ada programming language. In this course, the student will learn how Ada supports software engineering principles, such as abstraction, information hiding, localization, and modularity and how to apply these principles in Ada software development. The student will gain experience with the Ada syntax and semantics for data and program structuring, error management, and information hiding.

The 7-day "Extended Introduction" course offers a detailed analysis of statements, declarations, and typing. This course is valuable for students who are not familiar with high-order languages or advanced data typing concepts.

The 5-day "Standard Introduction" course covers this material at a quicker pace, highlighting the special syntax and semantics entailed in implementing concepts in Ada. This course is designed for students who are experienced with advanced data typing concepts.

ADA Training Prerequisites

None

ADA Training Audience

All Programmers, Designers, and Systems Engineers

ADA Training Course duration

5-7 Days

ADA Training Course Objectives

After this course a student should be able to

  • Understand Ada 83 in the context of an application domain
  • Write Ada 83 sequential programs
  • Understand the rationale for the design of Ada's core features
  • Resolve basic Ada programming problems

In the workshops, the student will apply the principles taught in the lecture to problems directly related to your work. Whenever possible, your current projects and software will be used for sample problems
