Macromedia Training Overview

Students will use Macromedia Director as a tool for creating multimedia presentations. Students will create a banner ad for a Web page on the Internet in Shockwave format, and an interactive presentation for distribution on a CD-ROM or DVD

Target Student:

This course is designed for the student who has little or no experience using Director, and who needs to learn the basics skills that are necessary in order to begin to use this program effectively to create Web content in the Shockwave format and content for interactive presentations.

Prerequisites

Students enrolling in this course should understand the basics of using their computer’s operating system. For example, students should know how to launch an application, create and save files, and copy files from CDs and other media.

Delivery method

Instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Benefits:

Students will learn how to create animated Shockwave files, as well as media-rich presentations created as stand-alone applications for distribution on interactive CD-ROMs.

Hardware/Software Requirements

You will need

• At least 64 megabytes (MB) of Random Access Memory (RAM).
• At least 50 MB of free hard-disk space.
• A 200 MHz or faster Intel Pentium processor.
• Windows 95, 98, NT4, or 2000.
• A 256 or higher color monitor capable of at least 800 x 600 resolution.
• CD-ROM drive.
• Macromedia Director 8.
• QuickTime 3.0 or later.
• Shockwave plug-in for Web browsers.
• A Web browser (such as Netscape Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer).
• See your reference manual for hardware considerations that apply to your specific hardware setup.
• In addition, you will need printers if you want to print the movies created in the course.
