Personal computing Overview
Mac OS X is the easiest to use computer operating system available. With its consistent, intuitive interface, you will get your work done quickly and easily using your computer as a tool to assist you in accomplishing your daily tasks. In this course, you will learn a number of basic skills that will provide a good foundation for using Mac OS X in your everyday work.

Hardware/Software Requirements
You will need:
- A PowerPC processor. See http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements for a complete list of hardware systems that will run Mac OS X.
- At least 128 MB of RAM.
- At least 3 GB of available storage space to install the Mac OS X operating system.
- A monitor capable of displaying 24-bit color at a resolution of at least 800 x 600 (1024 x 768 or more recommended).
- A CD-ROM drive.
- The Mac OS X v10.2 (Jaguar) operating system.
Performance-Based Objectives
- Start up and shut down your computer.
- Manage your workspace with window controls and menu commands.
- Customize the toolbar and Dock to make your work environment match
your work style.
- Create a filing system to organize documents, applications, and
folders.
- Use system preferences to change settings for your computer.
- Work with several applications at the same time.
- Work with applications in the Classic environment.
- Use removable media to place files on the hard disk.
