VMware Storage Solutions and Best Practices

VMware Training Overview

Selecting the right storage can be a difficult task to undertake. This class sets out to show various techniques that are available for storage. The class will demo setting up from scratch, iSCSI, NFS, and Fibre Channel. The students will see all of the solutions in place and run stress test and performance analysis tools on the various implementaitons to determine what is best for them.

VMware Storage Solutions and Best Practices will discuss the various solutions available to the students. While it cannot go into the detail of a class dedicated to one technology (Fibre Channel SAN can be a 4 day class alone), it will go into enough detail to help the student choose the right product and configure their product correctly. This class will be heavy demo and lab with only about 25% lecture. The class will each have their own virtualized ESX host. In the classroom will be an ESX host with iSCSI HW initiators and a full FC SAN that the class will share. This class will have no certification testing at the end of class.
